Castle Hills is a central Texas city located in the San Antonio Metropolitan Area. The city is positioned in Bexar County and is the 13th largest city therein. According to the United States Census Bureau, there were approximately 4,474 people living in Castle Hills at the time of 2016 census.

Like many Texas cities, original inhabitants of the area where Castle Hills is located were Native Americans. These individuals were present from the 17th to the 19th centuries. White settlers moved into the area in the 1920s. These settlers were attracted to the area because of the plentiful water supply provided by the Olmos Creek. After the first home was constructed, the settlement grew quickly. In 1951, Castle Hills was incorporated as a city.

Since its humble beginnings, Castle Hills has evolved into a small but thriving community. Individuals attracted to its excellent quality of life and wonderful amenities are welcomed to explore and stay in the city. Also, more than 600 businesses now operate in Castle Creek. Churches, fine restaurants, personal service establishments, and specialty retail stores have been established in Castle Hills, making it a very popular suburb among families and business owners.

When heat waves pass through Castle Hills, temperatures easily climb to the 100s.
